The View's Joy Behar pledged her support to President Joe Biden in his reelection campaign on Wednesday, telling the audience, "You can't fight fascism in four years only."

"You need eight years for that," she said.

Biden, 80, announced his reelection bid on Tuesday, telling the public, “The question we are facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom, more rights or fewer,” in a new ad. By the end of a second term, Biden would be 86 years old.

"He needs another four years to finish the job," Behar reacted on Wednesday's episode.

Sunny Hostin agreed, telling her co-hosts, "When you look at Joe Biden, he has so many accomplishments that he needs to put out there."

According to her, his problem is with messaging. "I think he doesn’t do a good enough job with that type of messaging," she claimed.

"But I felt hopeful watching it," she said, adding, "I’ve been critical of the Biden administration."

In Alyssa Farah Griffin's analysis, she said that Biden was targeting both former President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) with his reelection ad. She also said Biden seems eager to take one of the two on.

Griffin then questioned whether the Republican Party is tired of losing, suggesting it veers toward nominating a candidate such as Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH), a more centrist Republican.

Behar further claimed that Trump wouldn't be able to win in 2024 because of poor polling with independent voters, citing a recent NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist national poll that showed 68% of independents saying they do not want him to be president again.

"DeSantis is a loser and a bore," she added. "What are they going to do over there? Who have they got? Nobody."

Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, "You also need people to recognize what their best interests are."

Hostin noted, "He has had a lot of accomplishments."

"He brought us back from the precipice," Goldberg then claimed. "It's not a perfect country, but it's better than where we were."

While Trump has been announced and campaigning since last year, DeSantis has not launched a bid for the White House in 2024. However, the Florida governor is widely expected to announce a campaign this summer. In the meantime, DeSantis has kept speculation alive by visiting key early primary states such as New Hampshire and South Carolina, as well as making a relatively rare trip to Washington, D.C., to meet with Republican lawmakers.
