Hollywood icon and outspoken activist Jane Fonda suggested Friday that pro-abortion women could use "murder" as a solution to win back control over their bodies.

"We have experienced many decades now of having agency over our body, of being able to determine when and how many children to have. We know what that feels like, we know what that's done for our lives," Fonda, 85, said on The View. "We're not going back, I don't care what the laws are. We're not going back."

Fonda, who was been vociferous in her support of abortion since the overturning of Roe v. Wade in the summer of 2022, saw her remarks celebrated by The View's hosts.

"That's the activist," Sunny Hostin said. "She'll probably get a Nobel Prize."

"Besides marching and protesting, what else do you suggest?" Joy Behar asked.

"Murder," Fonda replied.

The hosts immediately jumped in and claimed the suggestion was one made in jest.

"Wait a second, she's just kidding," Behar said. "You know, they'll pick up on that. She's just kidding."

Fonda did not reply and just stared at Behar.
