The View's Alyssa Farah Griffin reacted on Wednesday to a New York jury's Tuesday verdict that found former President Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll in 1996.
According to the host, Republicans should now go after Trump with the same vigor they did former President Bill Clinton after his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky became public.

Griffin, who is the former White House director of strategic communications in Trump's administration, said, "I credit Asa Hutchinson for being one of the few Republicans with a backbone in this."
"This is the GOP front-runner for president who has now been found liable for sexual battery and for defamation," she explained. "We have a moral obligation as a party to walk away from this man."
Hutchinson, a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said, "The jury verdict should be treated with seriousness and is another example of the indefensible behavior of Donald Trump.”
Griffin recalled growing up "in the ’90s during the Bill Clinton, you know, sexual allegation scandals."
"And we took him to the woodshed," she said.
Now, according to Griffin, "Every Republican who came after Bill Clinton for sexual impropriety needs to have the same energy to take on Donald Trump."
Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, claiming "the Democrats also did the same thing," referring to holding Clinton accountable.
The House of Representatives passed articles of impeachment for Clinton in 1998 largely along party lines, despite Goldberg's claim.
Sunny Hostin later told her cohosts that Trump's former Vice President Mike Pence's response was "troubling."
When asked for his response to the verdict, Pence said, “I think that’s a question for the American people."
According to him, “It’s just one more instance where — at a time when American families are struggling, when our economy is hurting, when the world seems to become a more dangerous place almost every day — it's just one more story focusing on my former running mate that I know is a great fascination to members of the national media, but I just don’t think is where the American people are focused.”

He further said he "never heard or witnessed behavior of that nature" from Trump while working alongside him.
Reacting to his response, Hostin said, "How dare you say that this doesn’t matter. That is why rape is the most under-reported crime in our country because of men like Mike Pence that don’t think it’s important."
