The Washington Examiner's Byron York criticized President Joe Biden's continued denial of his involvement in Hunter Biden's business dealings, stating the idea of Biden not being involved in his son's foreign connection is "just not true."
York's statements on Biden's denial come in the wake of the president getting frustrated at a reporter on Wednesday after he asked about recent testimony from Devon Archer. In July, Archer testified before Congress that the younger Biden sold prospective business partners on an "illusion" of access to Joe Biden when he was vice president, and that the elder Biden sat in on business calls with his son.

"But the idea, 'I never talked business with anybody?'" York said during an appearance on Fox News regarding Biden's comments. "I mean, the Devon Archer testimony has really demolished that. We have some documentary evidence that also demolishes that. It’s just not true, and I think we saw Democrats after the Devon Archer testimony to the House begin to adopt fall-back positions. Well, 'OK, they talked but never really talked business.' But the idea that the president was not in contact with his son’s foreign business connections is just not true."
York praised House Republicans for how they have "really nailed down" facts showing money going to both "Biden family entities," as well as Hunter Biden’s business associates. However, he noted a step Republican investigators have yet to complete is tie said payments "to Joe Biden closely.
"So, the way to look at it, I think, is that Republicans have made huge progress in the last couple of weeks," York said. "The Devon Archer thing really advanced the ball a lot. But they're not there yet, and they're continuing to look into the documents that they think will finally prove their case."

The House Oversight Committee said on Wednesday that it had sent subpoenas to six banks for the records of businesses and people who worked with the Biden family but noted that congressional investigators have not yet sent subpoenas for any of the bank records of Biden family members.
A memo prepared by the committee said congressional investigators have now confirmed $20 million worth of payments through companies run by Hunter Biden and his business associates; in May, the committee said its work had uncovered $10 million of payments.
