


A crash caused a vehicle to veer off the Arlington Memorial Bridge in Washington, D.C., entering the icy water of the Potomac River.
The crash occurred just before 7 p.m. on Thursday. The bridge has been closed for a crash investigation, according to U.S. Park Police; the driver of the submerged vehicle was brought to shore and received advanced life support.
Rescue personnel are using boats to access the vehicle.
District of Columbia Fire and EMS later posted on social media that the second vehicle involved in the accident stayed on the bridge and both occupants suffered minor injuries.

District of Columbia Fire and EMS said it was a joint effort with the police department and park police.
