Vice President JD Vance on Thursday bashed Senate Democrats for their aggressive questioning of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., using an expletive to bring home his point.

Kennedy faced one of the most intense lines of questioning of any of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks over his treatment of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has been wracked by resignations and internal discord. Coming to Kennedy’s defense, Vance accused Democrats of hypocrisy.

“When I see all these senators trying to lecture and ‘gotcha’ Bobby Kennedy today all I can think is: You all support off-label, untested, and irreversible hormonal ‘therapies’ for children, mutilating our kids and enriching big pharma,” he said in a post on X, referring to transgender procedures for minors.

“You’re full of s*** and everyone knows it,” Vance said.

After constant infighting and a revolving door of appointments during his first term, Trump has gone to significant lengths to bring officials into his Cabinet who will present a united front to the public. Vance often leads this pack of loyalists, publicly supporting one another when they come under attack.

Kennedy was grilled by the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday, which pressed him on his beliefs around vaccines, the pharmaceutical industry, and the handling of the CDC. He was notably hostile toward several Democratic senators, calling at least one a liar. During Sen. Ron Wyden’s (D-OR) closing statement, Kennedy began scrolling on his phone.
