Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) blasted the Biden administration Wednesday morning for letting America become too reliant on foreign manufacturing, making the United States vulnerable to economic decline.
"To win a long-term battle, you need to make bullets. You need to make missiles. You need to make artillery shells," Vance said. "We do not make enough of this stuff here in the United States of America."
When asked by Brian Kilmeade if there is a short-term solution for America's lack of production, Vance said, “The short-term cure is for Joe Biden to get serious about this and to actually make it so that if, God forbid, the Chinese invade Taiwan in three or four years, we produce enough weapons to be able to help them out.”
Vance expressed concerns for the country's dependence on Taiwanese manufacturing, specifically computer chips, stating that if Taiwan falls to China and accesses U.S. information, it will cause a great depression.

"This is really important for Americans to understand: The Taiwanese control the American information technology industry because we allowed them to manufacture all of our computer chips,” Vance said. “If the Taiwanese fall to China, it will cause a great depression in this country. We have to prevent that from happening. But to prevent it, we have to be self-sufficient, and we have to make our own weapons.”
Vance concluded by saying that Biden and the previous 30 years of leadership have failed to fortify American manufacturing and, in turn, the U.S. is ill-prepared for possible war.
