At least two people, including a United States Park Police officer, were shot Wednesday at the corner of 12th and M streets in Northwest Washington, D.C., according to multiple reports.
Both people were taken to a nearby hospital, according to NBC News 4, and it is believed they both could be in critical condition. The non-police officer is believed to be a suspect in the shooting, law enforcement officials said.

The wounded officer, who has not been named so far, reportedly had a tourniquet around his right thigh, the Washington Post reported. It is at least the second officer-involved shooting in the district this fall after a D.C. police officer was shot in October in southeast.
