United Kingdom Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab has resigned from his position following allegations of bullying, he announced on Friday.

Raab's behavior was reviewed by an independent investigator and was prompted by eight complaints about his actions while acting as foreign secretary, Brexit secretary, and justice secretary, according to CNN. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak received the investigator's report on Thursday.

"I called for the inquiry and undertook to resign, if it made any finding of bullying whatsoever. I believe it is important to keep my word," Raab said in his resignation statement posted to Twitter. He added that the review dismissed all but two of the complaints against him, and that those two findings are "flawed and set a dangerous precedent for the conduct of good government."

He reiterated his position once again in his statement, which spanned a page and a half.

"In setting the threshold for bullying so low, this inquiry has set a dangerous precedent. It will encourage spurious complaints against Ministers, and have a chilling effect on those driving change on behalf of your government — and ultimately the British people," he added.
