


Former Twitter staff filed a class action lawsuit against their employer Wednesday.
The lawsuit is headed by Twitter's former head of employee benefits programs, Courtney McMillian, who was laid off in January. McMillian claims the company violated its own severance plan created in 2019 by laying off employees without two months base pay plus an extra week of pay for every year they were employed.

Some of the thousands of employees that were laid off are owed as much as six months pay per the lawsuit. Instead, they received one month of pay.
This latest suit was filed in the same federal court in San Fransisco as last month's lawsuit against the company. The previous suit included former and current employees not receiving promised bonuses.
Twitter no longer has a media team, with every email sent to its former media email prompting a poop emoji response.

The platform whittled its staff to fewer than 2,000 following multiple rounds of layoffs and mass resignation. More than half of the employees that were at the tech company before Elon Musk purchased it are no longer there.
Twitter has claimed that it paid its ex-employees.
