Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard condemned the Democratic Party’s response to both illegal immigration and the “orchestrated” protests that stem from it.

The director explained that the riots in Los Angeles followed four years of former President Joe Biden’s leadership of “open borders,” which she claimed was “very intentional” by the Democratic Party. She added that Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA) remarks about democracy display the party’s “hypocrisy,” citing how the Biden administration was “censoring free speech” and targeting U.S. citizens for exercising their Constitutional rights.

“The bottom line is they don’t care about the American people, they don’t even care about the people that they’re claiming to protest for,” Gabbard said on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime. “So many of them are paid protesters. This thing is being orchestrated obviously in many ways, and ultimately, President [Donald] Trump is the one who took action to keep the American people safe and try to bring peace back to the streets that these rioters are destroying.”

The director then detailed the investigation the FBI and the Department of Justice is pursuing on the riots, citing ads on Craigslist offering people “thousands of dollars a week” to participate in the unrest. She also said that Newsom is siding with cartels “whether he knows it or not” in his opposition to the Trump administration’s response to LA.

Amid the “lawlessness” in LA, Gabbard accused the Democratic Party of advocating for it to continue and its lawmakers of “insulting the intelligence” of U.S. citizens. Newsom’s office and former Vice President Kamala Harris have pushed back against claims of riots, with the latter suggesting the protests have been “overwhelmingly peaceful.”

“The American people are not as stupid as these Democrats are trying to make us out to be,” Gabbard, a former Democrat, said.

NEWSOM REFASHIONS HIMSELF AS RESISTANCE FIGHTER AFTER APPEALS TO MAGA RIGHT

The California governor has said, “Other states are next” in his continued criticism of Trump’s deployment of the National Guard. Newsom also accused the president of not being opposed to lawlessness “as long as it serves him,” pointing to the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.

A district judge has declined to grant a request from California officials to block Trump’s use of the National Guard in Los Angeles immediately.
