Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is considering moderating his own GOP primary debate ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
Carlson has yet to publicly announce what his future in the public eye will be, however, sources close to him told the Washington Post that Carlson is considering moderating a debate between Republican presidential candidates. A debate held by the conservative pundit would fall outside the Republican National Committee debate system as the first two debates have already been announced.

Fox News is slated to host the first debate in August in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which will also host the 2024 Republican National Convention. The second debate will be in Southern California at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Former Govs. Nikki Haley (R-SC) and Asa Hutchinson (R-AR), along with entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy are the other prominent Republican candidates who have announced their campaigns so far.
Trump has agreed to a CNN-produced town hall while toting a 40% lead over competitors in the polls, but he has scoffed at the idea of a debate. According to a Wednesday interview on Cats and Cosby, Trump claimed "people don't debate when they have these massive leads."

Fox News announced Carlson's departure earlier this month after nearly six years as the host of its second-most popular program. Carlson's only public response was in a video that went on to receive 16.5 million views, with 1.8 million viewing it within the hour it was posted, about an hour before his former program began.
In the video, he promised his fans he would "see you soon." His former network received fewer views during Carlson's old prime-time slot.
