NextImg:Trump warns ‘cognitively impaired’ Biden will lead US into ‘World War II’

Former President Donald Trump offered his latest criticism of President Joe Biden on Friday, warning the “cognitively impaired” incumbent would lead the country into “World War II” if he is reelected next year.

“We have a man who is totally corrupt and the worst president in the history of our country, who is cognitively impaired, in no condition to lead, and is now in charge of dealing with Russia and possible nuclear war,” Trump said in a speech at the Washington, D.C. Pray Vote Stand Summit. “Just think of it. We would be in World War II very quickly if we’re going to be relying on this man, and far more devastating than any war.”

TRUMPISM 2.0: THE PERSONNEL NEEDED TO MAKE THE FORMER PRESIDENT'S POLICIES POSSIBLE

It’s likely Trump meant to say Biden would lead the country into a global conflict amounting to World War III, a suggestion the former president has made about his political opponent before.

The suggestion was one of a handful of gaffes made by the former president during his speech, during which he also appeared to refer to Biden as former President Barack Obama before catching himself to change his train of thought.

“As you know, crooked Joe Biden and the radical left thugs have weaponized law enforcement to arrest their leading political opponent, and leading by a lot, including Obam — I’ll tell you what,” he said, fumbling his words and stopping mid-sentence. “You take a look at Obama and take a look at some of the things that he’s done, this is the same thing.”

The gaffe comes as Trump has ramped up attacks on Biden’s age in recent months, especially as voters have expressed concerns that the current president is too old to run for another term. If reelected, Biden would be 86 when he finishes out his second term.

A majority of voters (77%), including 69% of Democrats, say Biden is too old to serve another term, according to a recent poll from the Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Additionally, 51% of voters say Trump, who is just three years younger than Biden, is also too old to be reelected.
