Former President Donald Trump took to social media to share a video of a supporter getting a tattoo featuring the former president’s autograph — all to the tune of the Village People’s song "Y.M.C.A."
The former president appeared to be trolling the band in a video posted to Instagram on Sunday, nearly a week after Karen Willis, Village People manager and wife of lead singer Victor Willis, sent a cease-and-desist letter, blasting Trump for using their songs alongside impersonators at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

In the video, Trump is seen autographing a supporter’s bicep before the supporter heads to Water Street Tattoo in West Palm Beach, Florida, and has the autograph permanently inked. The video ends with a photograph featuring Trump giving a thumbs-up and the supporter showing off his new tattoo.
The post drew thousands of reactions, with several praising the man’s tattoo.
“I’m not much for tattoos, but yeah, I’d do that one,” one Instagram user commented.
“I’m doing this next,” another user posted. “Sign me up.”
Another comment was: “Bro got Donald Trump’s signature tattooed on his arm. Respect.”
Others wrote in support of Trump’s former presidency and current reelection bid.
“Best President of the USA,” one user wrote.
“Trump I am 100% Latino and we need you!!! We need you more than ever Mr. Trump,” another wrote. “Come and save us, you have millions behind you [please] don’t give up. It may seem like everybody is against you, but no different than 2016, even more people love you!!! Cmon you got this !!”
The Village People’s letter, sent on May 15, 2023, asserted the Mar-a-Lago performance was “unauthorized,” noting that “many fans, and the general public as well, mistakenly believe” the real Village People band were the ones performing.

In the letter, Willis claimed the performance violated the Lanham Act, United States trademark law protecting owners “against the use of similar marks if such use is likely to result in consumer confusion,” and gave Trump and his lawyers 10 days to respond.
In response to the letter, Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, reportedly said he would only correspond with the lawyers of the Village People.

“I will only deal with the attorney of the Village People, if they have one, not the wife of one of the members. But they should be thankful that President Trump allowed them to get their name back in the press. I haven’t heard their name in decades. Glad to hear they are still around.”
Water Street Tattoo also shared the Instagram video of the Trump supporter getting the tattoo on its IG stories.
