Alina Habba, former President Donald Trump's attorney, said she believes the Supreme Court will rule in his favor in challenges over the former president's eligibility and specifically mentioned Justice Brett Kavanaugh as someone the Trump team has "faith" in.

Habba discussed on Fox News's Hannity on Thursday how she predicts the case will be a "slam dunk" for the Supreme Court and that justices will step up in favor of Trump's arguments, mentioning how Trump "went through hell" to get Kavanaugh on the court.

“I think it should be a slam dunk in the Supreme Court,” Habba said. “I have faith in them. You know, people like Kavanaugh, who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place. He’ll step up. Those people will step up. Not because they’re pro-Trump, but because they’re pro-law, because they’re pro-fairness. And the law on this is very clear.”

Trump nominated three of the nine justices on the Supreme Court — Justices Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Kavanaugh.

The most difficult fight any of the Trump nominees endured was Kavanaugh's, as he faced allegations of sexual assault in the middle of his confirmation hearing. Christine Blasey Ford accused him of a sexual assault that allegedly occurred decades earlier, but a lack of corroboration and missing details in her testimony before the Senate concluded with Kavanaugh being confirmed. Kavanaugh has denied the allegations.

Despite the allegations against Kavanaugh, Trump did not withdraw his nomination, and Kavanaugh was confirmed by the Senate in a 50-48 vote in October 2018 and has been serving on the high court since then.

Habba also said the attempts to remove Trump from the primary ballot in Colorado and Maine will fall flat because the former president has not been charged with insurrection.

“He has not been charged with insurrection," Habba said. "He has not been prosecuted for it. He has not been found guilty of it.”
