Former President Donald Trump slammed the Department of Justice over the agreement reached with President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, who pled guilty on Tuesday to three federal charges over a failure to pay income taxes and illegally possessing a firearm.
"Wow! The corrupt Biden DOJ just cleared up hundreds of years of criminal liability by giving Hunter Biden a mere “traffic ticket.” Our system is BROKEN!" Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social.

Hunter Biden pled guilty to two misdemeanor charges related to not paying his income taxes and entered an agreement with the Justice Department over illegal firearm possession while he was an illicit drug user. Trump and several of his allies have slammed the announcement as evidence that Democrats receive better treatment from federal agencies compared to Republicans, most notably the former president.
Trump is facing a historic 37-criminal count indictment over mishandling classified documents when he left office. If he his convicted Trump could spend the rest of his life in prison. Trump pled not guilty to the charges in a Miami courthouse. He has also maintained his innocence arguing he was allowed to keep the sensitive documents under federal law.
A federal judge has set the trial over the classified documents for Aug. 14, 2023, nine days before the first GO presidential primary debate on Aug. 23.
