They say a picture is worth a thousand words. What about video? Particularly, what about a video of illegal immigrants storming the border wall and attacking National Guard troops in El Paso, Texas? It’s an image that the Trump campaign should run as a political ad every day until the election on television, the internet, social media, and anywhere else advertisements are shown.
It was a harrowing scene that was just the latest sign of how President Joe Biden and his Democratic administration have been arguably the worst presidential administration in history regarding border security and illegal immigration. Much of the problem stems from Biden’s horrible decision to overturn many of Trump’s immigration policies, decisions that made the border unsecured and the country unsafe.
In 2021, Biden’s first year in office, he used 89 executive actions to reverse Trump’s immigration policies. This led to a surge of illegal immigrants crossing the border. In fiscal 2021, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported over 1.6 million encounters along the border. This was more than quadruple the previous year and, at the time, the “highest annual total on record,” according to the Pew Research Center.

Since then, it has only worsened. The monthly number of illegal immigrant encounters at the border has “surpassed 200,000 on 10 separate occasions” since Biden has been president, Pew Research Center claimed, a total that had “not been reached since March 2000.” It seems as if every month passes, another record number for illegal immigrant crossings is set and Biden and the Democrats do absolutely nothing about it.
Rhetoric about the dangers of illegal immigration is one thing. However, video of some storming the border and attacking National Guard troops is another thing entirely. And just like the murder of Laken Riley, Biden and the Democrats have ignored the incident solely because it doesn’t align with their political agenda. It’s imagery that every person needs to see and be reminded of because it shows how precarious the border situation is. That is precisely why the Trump campaign should play that video nonstop until the election. And, arguably, every Republican should, too.
