Popular support for President-elect Donald Trump has never been higher, according to a polling group that awarded him a net positive personal rating for the first time.
RealClearPolling gave Trump a net approval score of plus-two percentage points as of Dec. 11, a steep increase from the president-elect’s negative 12.8 rating at the end of June.
The polling group has been tracking Trump’s approval ratings for nearly a decade, beginning shortly after he first announced he would run for president back in 2015.

At the time, RealClearPolling gave Trump a net disapproval rating of -39.3 percentage points and a favorability rating of only 22.7%.
Nine years later, the group’s news that Trump’s favorability ratings have risen to 49.4%, landing him net positive approval numbers, follows the president-elect’s political comeback earlier this month, which stunned critics.

BIDEN TO USE LAME-DUCK SESSION TO ‘TRUMP-PROOF’ LEGACY
Trump became only the second president in U.S. history to secure non-consecutive terms in the White House when he clinched the coveted popular vote and won all seven battleground states to win another four years in the White House.
The president-elect’s decisive victory came after he survived a historic two assassination attempts this year and a historic felony conviction in May, which he characterized as the product of the Biden administration’s politicized and weaponized justice system.
Trump has argued that the multiple indictments he faced helped spur his presidential campaign.
“I’ll tell you what, what they’ve done to me in terms of weaponization, indictments, impeachments and everything else. And in the end, it probably helped, because I got the biggest vote, the most votes any Republican’s ever gotten in history,” he said during a recent NBC interview.
RealClear Polling’s data falls in line with a similar Morning Consult survey released Thursday showing half of voters have a favorable view of Trump.
