President Donald Trump is promoting his controversial plan to take over the Gaza Strip by posting an artificial intelligence-generated video titled “Trump Gaza.”
Trump, in recent weeks, has proposed exiling 2.1 million Palestinians from Gaza and transforming the area into a “Riviera.” On Tuesday night, Trump posted on Truth Social a video using generative AI technology of the region as a resort featuring a golden statue of himself, his billionaire adviser Elon Musk eating hummus, and shirtless American and Israeli leaders relaxing on a beach.
“No more tunnels, no more fear. Trump Gaza is finally here!” the video says to the tune of a song.
The video begins by showing barefoot Palestinian children walking through rubble in Gaza. “What’s next?” the video asks. The children then begin to walk toward a skyline of skyscrapers lining Gaza’s coast. The video then shows Trump dancing with a woman, Musk raining money down on people and children dining on the beach, and a “Trump Gaza” building and golden Trump statues. The video also features bearded men in women’s clothing belly dancing.
“Donald’s coming to set you free,” a narrator sings. “Trump Gaza shining bright. Golden future, a brand-new light. Feast and dance. The deed is done.”
The video concludes with Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shirtless, sipping drinks in the sand. Trump announced the plan earlier this month, standing beside Netanyahu in Washington.
“There is nothing to buy,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “It’s Gaza. It’s a war-torn area. We’re going to take it. We’re going to hold it. We’re going to cherish it, we’re going to get it going eventually, where a lot of jobs are going to be created for the people in the Middle East. It’s going to be for the people in the Middle East. But I think it could be a diamond.”
The West Bank-based Palestinian Authority called the proposal a “serious violation of international law.”
As a former real estate businessman, Trump suggested that the Gaza Strip, which is situated on the Mediterranean Sea, could become “the Riviera of the Middle East.” His plan mirrors that of his son-in-law Jared Kushner’s idea for the region. Kushner, who served as a foreign policy adviser to Trump in his first administration, suggested last year that Israel should remove Palestinians from Gaza while it “cleans up” the area. Kushner has also said Gaza’s waterfront property could be very valuable.
“The thing that I would try to do if I was Israel right now is I would just bulldoze something in the Negev. I would try to move people in there … So you can go in and finish the job,” he said in an interview with the Middle East Initiative, a program of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
TRUMP NATIONAL SECURITY PICKS: LOYALTY, AMERICA FIRST, AND PRO-ISRAEL
Trump proposed sending Palestinians to Egypt or Jordan, which both countries have continuously said they would not agree to. Neither country has accepted Palestinians who were displaced from their homes from Israel’s war on Hamas in the last year and a half.
It is unclear exactly how forceful Trump intends to be with this plan. In response to Jordan and Egypt’s decision not to take Palestinians in, Trump said, “The way to do it is my plan. I think that’s the plan that really works. But I’m not forcing it. I’m just going to sit back and recommend it.”
