Republican voters are seeing through the Department of Justice’s political persecution of former President Donald Trump, according to the Washington Examiner’s Kaylee McGhee White.
“Trump is at his best when his message is: ‘They’re coming after you. I’m just in the way,’” White told Fox & Friends.

White pointed to recent polling that showed Trump’s lead expanding among the GOP field of presidential candidates since his DOJ indictment.
“It just goes to show that voters recognize that the Hunter Biden sweetheart deal is a two-tiered system of justice, and they’re not having any of it,” she said.

White also noted that while Trump is a divisive candidate and some Republican voters have indicated they would prefer a new leader who can attract independent voters, “it’s very difficult to make that case when you have the federal government continuously going after Trump. It rallies people behind him, and it gives him a really strong and compelling message.”
A NBC News poll released Sunday indicated that Republican voters say they would make Trump their first-choice candidate, while only 22% said they would choose Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) as their first choice.
