Former President Donald Trump's attorney Alina Habba argued Sunday that "radical Left liberals' have no regard for the law in light of the former president's trial in New York.
While appearing on Fox News's Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Habba discussed Trump's trial, one of several legal battles the former president is facing as he seeks another shot at the White House in 2024. This past week, Trump's children, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump, provided testimony in the case, in which Habba claimed they do not fit into the case.

"I believe that when they crafted this complaint, they looked at their tiles, and they looked at, frankly, PR, and if they patch in the kids, it's more days that Letitia James can go out there and speak. It's more press for her and more of an impact," Habba said. "Radical Left liberals don’t really care about facts. They don't care about law. They care about making statements, and these kids did nothing wrong. They should not be in this case. Ivanka's already out of the case. The boys should not be in the case. Their testimony was direct, and they want to make it as if there was some sort of corruption and some sort of conspiracy; there was none."
Habba also claimed that the judge in the New York case, Judge Arthur Engoron, has proven himself to be "motivated by the other side" as she pointed to decisions Engoron has made in the case.
Previous reports have also shown that Engoron donated to Democrats for decades prior to this case. When asked if she believes Engoron is compromised, she stated she would not "speak to that" due to a gag order, but added that "we'll see."
The case Trump is facing in New York is a $250 million civil lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. While on the witness stand, Trump was heard saying that the trial was "very unfair," adding that he hoped "the public is watching."

The New York civil lawsuit is one of several legal battles Trump and his team are facing ahead of the 2024 presidential election, as Trump has been indicted several times this year. The 91 indictments Trump faces were issued for a variety of reasons, including storing classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort and attempting to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
Despite the legal speed bumps, Trump is still leading the 2024 Republican primary race against the other candidates in the field, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, business entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC). President Joe Biden announced earlier this year that he will seek reelection, meaning the 2024 election could very well be a rematch between him and Trump.
