Former President Donald Trump‘s lead over Joe Biden has ballooned since the president’s disastrous debate performance last week, according to a new poll.

A New York Times-Siena College poll released on Wednesday shows Trump leading Biden 49%-43% nationally with likely voters, in the survey conducted from June 28 though Tuesday. It is a 3% improvement for Trump compared to the sruvey conducted by the pollster just before the June 27 debate.

The Biden campaign sent a memo to staff earlier Wednesday looking to get ahead of this poll, which shows the president in a deep hole with four months until the election.
