Former President Donald Trump seemingly confirmed the reports of a burgeoning feud between his campaign and Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-IA), who has pledged to remain neutral ahead of the state's caucus.
Unhappy with Reynolds's stance as he dominates current polls, Trump took to Truth Social to vent. "I love Iowa, protected & expanded Ethanol, got 28 Billion Dollars from China for our great Farmers, ended the Estate (Death!) Tax on farms, made the best TRADE deals in history (USMCA, China, & many more), introduced the World to our FARMERS, & kept Iowa’s 'First in the Nation' status," he wrote.

"I opened up the Governor position for Kim Reynolds, & when she fell behind, I ENDORSED her, did big Rallies, & she won. Now, she wants to remain 'NEUTRAL.' I don’t invite her to events! DeSanctus down 45 points!" the former president added.
A recent report from the New York Times detailed an alleged dispute over several days between the two politicians' teams. Reynolds reportedly took issue with Trump claiming responsibility for her current position as governor in a June campaign stop in Iowa.
“I hate to say it. Without me, you know, she was not going to win. You know that, right?” he said at the time.
Ahead of Trump's most recent visit to the state, the squabble continued behind the scenes over whether Reynolds would join Trump onstage. The governor did not end up attending the event.
Reynolds has appeared next to several candidates on the campaign trail and insists upon her willingness to campaign with each Republican candidate in the state.
However, Trump's campaign has reportedly taken note of a particularly friendly relationship between the governor and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who is the second-highest polling primary candidate — and his biggest competition.
Reynolds has further become disinterested in Trump, which has only been stoked by his latest remarks on her gubernatorial race.
In his first trip to the state on the campaign trail, DeSantis told a local news station, “I mean, I think Kim [Reynolds] could be considered for just about anything that a president would pick," when asked if he would consider a Cabinet position for her in his administration.

Reynolds also joined Florida first lady Casey DeSantis for the launch of the Mamas for DeSantis initiative in the state last week.
Neither Reynolds nor DeSantis have publicly addressed Trump's recent criticism of the Iowa governor.
