Eric Trump joined the number of skeptics of a letter President Donald Trump supposedly gave to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, saying it is “no different” from “untrue” claims that Russia interfered with the 2016 election.

The House Oversight Committee on Monday received the first set of documents from Epstein’s estate, including a 2003 ‘birthday book’ that contained a sexually suggestive note Trump addressed to Epstein. The note includes a drawing of a woman’s body and appears to bear Trump’s signature.

Eric Trump, however, said his father doesn’t “sketch out cartoon drawings.” He also said it is “ironic” that his father also threw Epstein “out of the club” since he believed Epstein was “a scumbag.”

“Listen, they tried everything! It’s no different than the Russian hoax! Listen, the New York Times, the same people who are going to, by the way, try and do everything they can to keep you from becoming the number one best seller, you better believe — they were the ones that got Pulitzer Prizes for writing about the Russia hoax, something that was untrue and they didn’t even give back the prizes, right?” Trump said on NewsmaxTV’s Carl Higbie: Frontline.

Eric Trump said people no longer “bite” at mainstream media news, and this is why his father still won the popular vote and every swing state in 2024 despite “negative 98% media coverage.”

The president’s son claimed that The New York Times will try to prevent his upcoming book from becoming a best seller. His upcoming book, Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation, is set to be released Oct. 14.

Vice President JD Vance also compared the alleged letter to Russiagate, writing on X, “no one is falling for this BS.” Washington Examiner’s Salena Zito expressed skepticism against the letter in July, saying it is not the president’s signature and Trump wouldn’t be “sloppy” when drawing a picture.

Radio host Charlamagne tha God also expressed doubt over the letter’s validity, speculating “somebody down with Trump planted that” to increase support for the president if it’s debunked. He also said the letter and drawing seem “too d*** silly to be real.”

Other birthday messages were also among the compilation the House Oversight Committee received Monday. One message featured former President Bill Clinton allegedly praising Epstein’s “childlike curiosity.” Other names in the messages were attorney Alan Dershowitz and Epstein’s mother, Pauline Stolofsky Epstein.
