Former President Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign is reportedly reaching out directly to Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R-FL) donors in an attempt to convince them to switch sides.
A memo sent to DeSantis donors was obtained by Politico and argues that Trump will be the inevitable Republican nominee, so the donors should back him instead of DeSantis. It paints DeSantis as a lost cause while highlighting Trump's resurgence in polls, particularly in light of his recent indictment and arrest in New York City.

“The two things the memo illustrates are the President’s huge numbers and Governor Ron DeSantis’ collapsing numbers,” the memo said, adding, “Now is the time to demonstrate your support and join” the Trump effort.
The three-page memo, written by Trump campaign pollster John McLaughlin, outlines several recent polls and trends favorable to Trump. The outlet did not say if donors were receptive to the memo.

The news comes as DeSantis continues to boast impressive fundraising totals — the pro-DeSantis super PAC Never Back Down revealed that it had raised $30 million between March 9 and Sunday.
Trump has seen his own boost in fundraising since his indictment. His campaign claimed that it raised over $4 million in the 24 hours after the announcement of his indictment.
