Former President Donald Trump accused New York Attorney General Letitia James of being "grossly incompetent" ahead of the second day of his fraud trial in the Empire State.

Trump, speaking to the press before entering the courtroom, claimed that James provided the court with "false" and "misleading information" about his finances and properties.

"[The judge] has been given false information, misleading information, and corrupt information by a very corrupt and incompetent attorney general, Letitia James. This woman is grossly incompetent. She ran on the basis 'I will get Trump,' without knowing anything about me," Trump said.

He then railed about the financial evaluations of his Mar-a-Lago resort and other properties that were presented in court, arguing they were lower than their actual value.

"We just recently sold two properties for many times what they were worth in the financial statements. And the statements are actually much lower than the actual net worth. She knows that, but she's fraudulent. Because of the fraudulent numbers she has given, many of which — Mar-a-Lago is just one example. We have other examples, which are almost as good, might even be better," Trump said.

Trump continued, "This case should be dismissed. This is not a case. And she should probably be dismissed also because she's terrible and grossly incompetent — as I've said."

He then said that James should focus on the "violent criminals all over New York" rather than spending the "next six months in a courthouse."

James, who filed the lawsuit alleging fraud by the Trump Organization last year, is seeking $250 million in damages and to block Trump from doing business in New York.

Justice Arthur Engoron has already found Trump liable for the fraud claims, but now the nonjury trial will proceed to examine the six claims brought by James.
