Trump ally and former New York City Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik met with investigators from special counsel Jack Smith, according to a report.
CNN reported that Kerik met with investigators for about five hours Monday. His attorney, Timothy Parlatore, told the outlet that the questions mainly revolved around what Rudy Giuliani, former President Donald Trump's attorney, did to prove that the former president won the 2020 presidential election.

Kerik is a longtime close ally of Giuliani, going back to the latter's time as New York City mayor. Giuliani was repeatedly alluded to in Trump's latest indictment as a co-conspirator, though he hasn't been charged with anything. The former mayor has fervently denied any wrongdoing.
Parlatore told CNN there's "not a chance” Giuliani will be charged by the special counsel.
“The idea that Rudy Giuliani was intentionally pushing claims he knew were false is not something supported by the evidence,” he added.
Kerik was part of the team led by Giuliani that investigated alleged voter fraud around the 2020 election. He has been in contact with the investigation previously; last month, he delivered a plethora of documents related to the investigation. Parlatore had first received permission from Trump's legal team before handing it over.
“I have shared all of these documents, approximately 600 megabytes, mostly PDFs, with the special counsel and look forward to sitting down with them in about two weeks to discuss,” he said last month.

Previously, Kerik had been the subject of false accusations regarding a meeting shortly before Jan. 6 by the Jan. 6 committee.
In 2010, Kerik was sentenced to four years in prison on felony fraud charges and making false statements to government officials. He was pardoned by then-President Trump in 2020.
