


Former President Donald Trump will continue traversing the campaign trail in the coming months, but in between campaign stops, the former president will be making several stops in the courtroom.
The various legal cases against the former president span from the classified documents case in federal court to Trump's business record falsification case in a Manhattan court. Here are key dates for both the campaign and the former president's court dates.

August 2023: Trump is expected to be indicted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on charges related to the former president's alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. Willis has reportedly been targeting a window of July 31-Aug. 18 to indict Trump. His arraignment in the Peach State would likely be within days of the indictment.
Aug. 23, 2023: The first Republican presidential debate is scheduled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is currently unknown if Trump will participate. He has met the criteria to qualify for the debate but has yet to sign the mandatory RNC loyalty pledge. The debate will be televised by Fox News.
Sept. 27, 2023: The second Republican presidential debate is set to be held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. It is unknown if Trump will attend this debate. The debate will be televised by Fox Business and Univision.
Oct. 2, 2023: Trial for the case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James against the Trump Organization for allegedly engaging in fraudulent business practices begins in the Empire State.
Nov. 3, 2023: Deadline for filing all pretrial motions for either party in the classified documents case against Trump in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Dec. 11, 2023: Hearing on pretrial motions brought by either party in the classified documents case.
Jan 15, 2024: Trial in the defamation lawsuit brought by E. Jean Carroll begins. This case, filed in 2019, is the second trial Trump will face after he was found liable for sexual battery and defamation in a separate case in May.
Jan. 15, 2024: Iowa caucuses are held. The first contest in the Republican presidential primary.
Feb. 6, 2024: Nevada Republican presidential primary is held. This is expected to be the third contest of the GOP primary, as the New Hampshire primary will likely be held sometime before the Nevada primary and after the Iowa caucuses.
Feb. 24, 2024: South Carolina Republican presidential primary is held. This is the first contest for GOP candidates in the South and will be held three weeks later than the Democratic presidential primary in the state.
March 5, 2024: Super Tuesday. More than a dozen states will hold their Republican presidential primaries.
March 20, 2024: Deadline for either party to file any motions in limine, or made at the beginning of the trial, in the classified documents case.
March 25, 2024: Trump's criminal trial is scheduled to begin in New York. In this case, Trump was charged with allegedly falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments before the 2016 election.
April 17, 2024: Hearing held on motions in limine in the classified documents case.
May 14, 2024: Hearing in the classified documents case on any remaining concerns regarding the Classified Information Procedures Act and the handling of classified materials in the case. During that hearing, a calendar call will be held to schedule the trial and subsequent hearings.
May 20, 2024: Trial in the classified documents case begins.
July 15-18, 2024: Republican National Convention is held. The Republican nominee for president for 2024 will be nominated during the convention, which will be held in Milwaukee.
Nov. 5, 2024: The 2024 presidential election is held.

The trial dates for the 2020 election case against Trump and the expected fourth indictment against the former president in Georgia have yet to be set. Special counsel Jack Smith has suggested a Jan. 2, 2024, trial date for the 2020 election case, and lawyers for Trump will likely request a date after the 2024 election, but the final decision on the trial date will be up to Judge Tanya Chutkan.
Trump is the clear front-runner in the Republican field, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average, but whether he can continue to run a winning campaign in the GOP primary and handle his various legal troubles remains to be seen.
