Sen. Tim Scott's (R-SC) 2024 presidential campaign is launching an $8 million multimedia advertising blitz in Iowa and New Hampshire as GOP candidates vie to cut into former President Donald Trump's substantial polling lead.
Scott’s second major ad buy includes $6.6 million in television advertising that will air statewide through November in the first caucus and first primary states, according to his campaign. The spots will appear on broadcast, cable, and satellite TV.

This will be augmented by a six-figure radio and digital ad campaign that will run over the same time period.
The period after Labor Day will likely be critical for many of the dozen candidates seeking the 2024 Republican presidential nomination in hopes of challenging President Joe Biden, who is seeking a second term.
Scott’s ad purchase was announced less than a week before the first Republican primary debate, which will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a general election battleground state, and aired on Fox News nationwide.
The junior senator from South Carolina will be appearing in the debate, having met the polling and donor thresholds while also agreeing to the Republican National Committee's pledge to support the eventual nominee.
It is unclear whether Trump will participate in the debate.
After the Republican contenders debate, Scott will fan out across the early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina for campaign appearances.
Scott is squarely in the middle of the pack nationally, taking 2.7% in the RealClearPolitics polling average, including 3% in the latest Fox News poll. But he fares better in the first states to vote, averaging 7.3% in New Hampshire, 9.7% in Iowa, and 9% in South Carolina.
The senator hit 10% in the last Fox Business poll of South Carolina GOP primary voters and 11% in the outlet’s most recent Iowa survey, 5 points behind Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
Scott's supporters are hoping that his optimistic message can make a breakthrough in the debates. The campaign also touts his $21 million cash on hand.

“Tim Scott is the only candidate who has shown steady, upward momentum since entering the race,” a senior Scott official said. “As he prepares to take the debate stage, it is clear he not only is the best messenger and most consistent conservative in the race but also has the resources to win.”
The first RNC debate will take place on Wednesday night next week.
