At least three men were killed in three separate homicides in Washington, D.C., on each day of the Memorial Day weekend holiday.

The reportedly unrelated killings occurred in different areas of the district, with the first in southeast Washington on Saturday, the second in northwest Washington on Sunday, and the third in northeast Washington on Monday. As of Friday, 67 homicides have been reported in the district, which is a 25% decline from this time last year, according to the Washington Post.

Just past midnight on Saturday morning, Naheem Worley, 19, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was found with “multiple gunshot injuries” in the 1300 block of Congress Street in southeast Washington, which is about half a mile from the Congress Heights Metro station.

On Sunday, Tommy Hudson, 58, from the northwest quadrant of the district, was found fatally stabbed at about 9 a.m. in the 500 block of Harvard Street, according to police.

Hudson was found on a rowhouse street east of the Columbia Heights neighborhood with stab wounds. Police believe he was stabbed “multiple times” inside.

On Monday afternoon, in the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue, Chidozie Njoku, 23, of Temple Hills, Maryland, was fatally shot in the northeastern part of the district at about 2:40 p.m. The site of the crime was east of the Anacostia River near Benning Road.
