The hosts of ABC’s The View blasted President Donald Trump on Monday over his decision to deploy the National Guard to Los Angeles, accusing him of “fascism” and warning of a looming “civil war.”

During the broadcast, co-host Sunny Hostin sharply criticized what she called the “militarization” of the National Guard, warning that Trump’s actions resemble authoritarianism.

“He is militarizing and deploying the Guard for the purpose of policing Americans’ protest activity — our freedom of speech, our freedom of assembly,” Hostin said. “This is the kind of internal military policing that leads to chaos, fascism, and yes, civil war.”

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg echoed Hostin’s concerns, asking rhetorically, “Whatever happened to states’ rights?”

Goldberg questioned the legality and necessity of deploying federal troops without a request from Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA).

“Civil war,” Goldberg muttered during the exchange, to which Hostin replied, “That’s the way we need to look at it.”

Co-host Ana Navarro, visibly emotional, spoke about the situation’s effects on the Latino community.

“These are my people who are getting dragged through the streets,” she said. “We have the right to protest. We are Americans, and this is our country, too. But we must stay nonviolent. … Trump wants this to turn into chaos so he can justify the crackdown.”

Navarro added, “We have to show up with American flags.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump administration staffer, said, “I virtually never agree with using the National Guard on American streets unless absolutely necessary.”

Trump has defended his decision on Truth Social, saying, “Los Angeles has been invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals. Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free.”
