Several hosts on The View defended Sen. John Fetterman's (D-PA) attire at the Senate on Tuesday's show.

Last week, the Pennsylvania senator spoke during a press conference while wearing a large hoodie and basketball shorts. This was a contrast to his colleagues beside him, who all donned suits. Afterward, he faced criticism for his casual attire.

WHO'S IN, WHO'S OUT, AND WHO'S STILL WAITING TO ANNOUNCE FOR SENATE IN 2024

Sunny Hostin claimed his hoodie and shorts are actually "quite endearing."

Joy Behar took the opportunity to accuse Republicans of being more concerned with clothing than children dying in school shootings. "This is all about politics — making trouble for Fetterman, who is an everyman. He’s the everyman. That’s why people like him," she said.

He was further defended by Whoopi Goldberg, who noted he wasn't breaking the rules. According to her, "That's how he does it, and he does it not to be disrespectful — that’s why he doesn’t go on the Senate floor. He does it from where he’s comfortable because this is who he is. I would not change."

Goldberg then pointed to the senator's attire as an example of him living "the American dream."

"Don’t confuse his outfit with his politics. You take somebody like Matt Gaetz. I’m OK if he shows up in a tuxedo; he’s an idiot," Behar added.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) took a shot at the senator's outfit last week, tweeting he "redefined Casual Friday on a Thursday morning" and noting that it's "unbecoming."

"John Fetterman redefined Casual Friday on a Thursday morning. It’s truly unbecoming for someone to show up like that to any job, let alone a job that only 100 people are elected to do. There’s just no excuse for it," she tweeted.

Boebert's criticism was echoed by many on social media. It was further expanded on by Washington Examiner contributor Christopher Tremoglie in two commentary pieces titled "John Fetterman is an embarrassing slob" and "Democrats, aren't you embarrassed by Fetterman's shorts and hoodie?"

"As a senator, wearing shorts and a hoodie during an official press conference is beneath the dignity of the office," Tremoglie claimed in one of the pieces.

Fetterman's communications director, Joe Calvello, responded to the articles, tweeting, "This dude got so triggered by John’s shorts and a hoodie he had to write two separate opinion pieces about it in two days. What a snowflake!"

Fetterman was discharged in March from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he had been receiving inpatient treatment for clinical depression for six weeks. Following his discharge, his hoodies and shorts, which became his signature on the campaign trail, made a return.

“I am so happy to be home. I’m excited to be the father and husband I want to be, and the senator Pennsylvania deserves. Pennsylvanians have always had my back, and I will always have theirs,” he said in a statement at the time.
