NextImg:The two issues that will define the 2024 election - Washington Examiner

As we approach the election this November, politicians, activists, and commentators alike are falling over themselves to declare that their issue of choice is the issue that should drive you to cast your ballot in favor of their preferred candidate.

Democrats will stick to their classic favorites, including democracy, equality, and, of course, the imaginary women’s right to murder their unborn children.

And Republicans will tout their own go-to issues. The problem here, though, is that across the increasingly broad political spectrum, while Democrats reliably circle the wagons around a fairly concrete platform in the lead-up to election season, Republicans are struggling to agree on, well, anything.

Except for two things: inflation and immigration. Which just so happen to be the two issues upon which this election hinges.

While there are certainly numerous (if not countless) areas of demonstrable failure under which President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign could crumble, his policies regarding inflation and immigration have been an utter catastrophe that should, ideally, mark the end of his reign of Adderall-fueled terror.

First, inflation. Under Biden’s self-celebrated system of “Bidenomics,” and despite endless attempts to propagandize away the truth, inflation has sucked the economic strength from the average person, making them poorer. Food prices, housing prices, gas prices: living is simply more expensive thanks to Biden’s disastrous economic policies.

Then there’s immigration. After wasting no time tearing up former President Donald Trump’s border control policies, Biden has triggered the worst border crisis in American history. Out of nearly 10 million illegal immigrants who have amassed at the border between the United States and Mexico, at least 6.3 million have been allowed to enter, and these are the illegal immigrants we know about.

As hundreds of thousands cross the border every month, completely avoidable crimes have been committed across the country, many of them deadly, with communities descending into unmanageable chaos under the unprecedented weight of so-called undocumented people.

When it comes to other issues, Biden’s messaging team — which, yes, includes the legacy media — might be able to paper over the cracks. But when it comes to inflation and immigration, the Biden campaign’s lies are dead on arrival.

When the dollars in your pocket don’t go anywhere near as far as they did just a few years ago, and when city streets have become no-go zones filled with military-aged men (and future Democratic Party voters), Biden’s team has nowhere to hide.

It’s up to the Trump campaign and the Republican Party to present themselves as the only sane people in the room on these two pivotal issues. We need to mimic the Democratic Party’s ruthless focus and come together to offer simple and effective solutions that will cut through the lazy cries of racism and bigotry that will be Biden’s last resort.

Put simply, 2024 is Trump’s to lose.
