In an attempt to capitalize on the Democratic standard-bearer’s gender, the Harris campaign has placed an outsize emphasis on abortion over the last few months. It is one of the few issues for which Vice President Kamala Harris enjoys a polling advantage over former President Donald Trump, and focusing on abortion access mobilized an army of single, childless women: the party’s true base.
The problem for Harris is that men are fleeing her party in droves, and the entirely women-focused, infantilizing demeanor of the campaign is doing her no favors. Harris’s insulting, some would say racist, pledge to airdrop marijuana and cash to young black men fell flat, and the attempts by her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), to appeal to men have predictably backfired.
Democrats can’t campaign on the economy. Consumer prices are still sky-high, and any favorable economic news gets revised down upon further inspection. The Biden-Harris regime’s foreign policy has been an utter disaster from the botched Afghanistan pullout to the endless supply of taxpayer cash flowing to Ukraine. Israel’s recent victories over Hamas and Hezbollah took place in spite of Harris and President Joe Biden, regardless of the shameless efforts by the two Democrats to take credit.
With few issues to turn to, and Trump’s consistent movement toward the center of the political spectrum, the Harris campaign and the lapdog corporate press have pivoted hard to Trump’s most “extreme” position: illegal immigration.
Sure, Trump appears extreme on the deportation of illegal immigrants compared to open border enthusiast Democrats and chestless, ineffectual Republicans in Congress, but the majority of people are in lockstep with the 45th president on the issue. Harris’s handling of the southern border has been so inept that a majority of voters now support the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, including 58% of independents, according to a Scripps News-Ipsos survey.
In an attempt to play John Stockton for Harris’s Karl Malone, the dutiful press are dialing up the propaganda around illegal immigration. 60 Minutes ran a sob story about an illegal immigrant family on Monday.
“We are like a normal family, like anybody else, right?” illegal immigrant Monica Camacho Perez told CBS. “We go to church. We work, every day. We pay taxes.”
Pieces like this may tug on the heartstrings of suburban liberals, but most Americans understand that the illegal immigration issue is about more than one family in Baltimore, Maryland.
The House Homeland Security Committee found that 617,000 criminal illegal immigrants are walking free in the United States after being convicted of crimes such as rape, murder, and assault. Americans were shocked to learn of the growing body count due to uncontrolled illegal immigration in recent months. The brutal murder of nursing student Laken Riley in Georgia allegedly by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela sent shock waves through the political discourse, ending with former President Bill Clinton all but admitting that Riley would likely still be alive if not for the handiwork of border czar Kamala Harris.

As the Harris campaign and corporate journalists were busy calling Trump and his supporters “Nazis” over the weekend, an illegal immigrant named Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi from North Africa who was welcomed into the country by the Biden-Harris administration a year and a half ago allegedly shot an orthodox Jewish man in Chicago while shouting “Allahu Akbar.” Americans were also killed in Maryland, Ohio, Texas, Minnesota, and Colorado by illegal immigrants in the last year.
With a garbage economy and disastrous foreign policy playing out all over the world, and considering that abortion is only a primary motivator for childless, young, liberal women, the Harris team had to pivot. But it maneuvered into a buzzsaw of its own making by zeroing in on Harris’s most glaring failure during her tenure as vice president.
