President Donald Trump and border hawks on the Right are entirely justified in classifying illegal immigration as one of the main crises facing our nation. The Center for Immigration Studies estimated that as of January, an incredible 15.8 million illegal immigrants reside in the United States, almost 30% of the total foreign-born population.
Former President Joe Biden escalated the migrant crisis dramatically during his tenure in the White House. His open borders policies allowed a record 8.3 million migrants into the country, with a whopping 5.4 million, nearly two-thirds, crossing the border illegally.

The Trump administration has set the lofty goal of deporting a million illegal immigrants during President Donald Trump’s first year of his second term. To reach that objective, law enforcement would have to more than quadruple the number of deportations performed on average from 2017 to 2019. In fact, the record number of illegal immigrant deportations occurred in 2012 under former President Barack Obama, when the government deported 409,000 illegal immigrants.
The ambitious, albeit noble, goal of removing a million, or millions of, illegal immigrants was always going to be an uphill battle. Not only has such an operation never taken place in the West, but Democrat-appointed circuit court judges have kicked their lawfare into high gear in opposition to Trump’s commonsense immigration policies. However, the greatest impediment to the goals of the administration is likely not legal or logistical.
Immigration enforcement is messy. Not all illegal immigrants are terrorists — unlike the immigrant from Egypt who allegedly set fire to Jewish protesters in Boulder, Colorado, earlier this month — and aside from breaking immigration law, many are not involved in additional criminal activity. Birthright citizenship makes it more difficult to deport certain illegal immigrants, if for no other reason than it provides Democrats and the press with fodder to drive pro-illegal immigrant sentiment in the media.
American voters are short-sighted and extremely susceptible to propaganda, as evidenced time and time again, from the COVID-19 hysteria to the current trend of blissful ignorance regarding the myriad fiscal ills threatening future generations. All journalists and politicians had to do in order to convince hundreds of millions of Americans to participate in the destruction of the economy in the spring of 2020 was to cry on television and blame freedom for the deaths of the elderly. Voters criticize Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) at the mere mention of reforming or privatizing the programs that risk the destruction of the American way of life.
And if you don’t think corporate media has a thousand videos of adorable illegal immigrant children in the hopper, ready to berate border hawks into submission, you have another thing coming. Americans don’t have the stomach to watch what it would really take to restore order to the nation’s immigration system, unless current events convince them to man up and do what must be done.
DEMOCRATS FESS UP TO THE LEFT’S POLITICAL VIOLENCE PROBLEM
The Democrats may be facilitating this very scenario. Left-wing agitators, terrorist sympathizers, and other street communists have begun another “summer of love” in recent days, burning vehicles, looting stores, and attempting to murder law enforcement officers across the Los Angeles area, tangentially protesting the legal actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The corporate press is working overtime to downplay the rioting, but with trust in the media, outside of Stockholm syndrome-riddled, blue-no-matter-who enclaves, at record lows, it is unlikely their propaganda will be as effective as it was in years past.
Americans don’t like policies they view as “harsh,” such as separating children from their parents. But they like hordes of masked criminals burning American flags and attempting to kill police officers even less. We do need mass deportations, and Democrats are proving that point for all the world to see.
