Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell is out of the hospital after suffering an injury in a mass shooting in Florida on Sunday.

Dell was at a private event hosted by the restaurant Cabana Live. Typically, the restaurant limits its patrons to those over the age of 18 at sundown. However, the suspected gunman, 16-year-old Christopher Bouie Jr., was able to shoot ten people at the poolside restaurant after midnight. All survived with non-life threatening injuries.

“We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford, Fla., last night,” the Texans said in a statement. “He sustained a minor wound, but has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits. We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate, but we ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to Cabana Live for comment.

A police officer was able to quickly detain Bouie, who remains in custody at a juvenile detention center. The victims intend to press charges, according to police.

Dell is fresh from a fibula surgery in December. Before he was injured, he had 73 catches, 1,096 yards, and 11 touchdowns in his rookie season. Those efforts helped the Texans to an 11-8 season and a subsequent division title for the first time since 2019.
