Tens of thousands of young scouts are in the process of evacuating the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea as Tropical Storm Khanun nears, authorities said.
Beginning Tuesday, 36,000 scouts will be transported via roughly 1,000 vehicles from the South Korean county of Buan, where the jamboree is taking place, according to South Korea’s Minister of the Interior and Safety Kim Sung-ho.

The scouts hail from over 158 nations, and accommodations for them will be provided in Seoul and its metropolitan area, according to a report.
Government training centers, education buildings, and hotels are all being sought out, Kim said.
The United States military base Camp Humphreys will reportedly accommodate scouts from Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, along with American scouts.
Appropriately six hours will be required to evacuate the scouts, as the World Organization of the Scout Movement seeks to "provide all necessary resources and support for participants during their stay and until they return to their home countries."
