The Republican Jewish Coalition is endorsing Rep. Bob Good‘s (R-VA) primary challenger after he opposed aid to Israel amid its fight against Hamas.
RJC CEO Matt Brooks blasted Good’s record in a statement on Monday and endorsed his opponent, Republican state Rep. John McGuire, who the RJC says has “made his support for Israel clear.”
The tipping point proved to be Good’s vote against $26 billion in emergency assistance for Israel that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) worked to push through as other Republicans threatened his job.
“Congressman Bob Good (VA-05) shamefully voted against this critical support for the Jewish state, abandoning Israel as it continues to fight for its very survival after the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust,” Brooks said.
Good, who is the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, recently posted his support for Israel was “unshakeable” but that he couldn’t get over additional spending in the recent foreign aid legislation that included Ukraine aid as well.
The RJC’s statement also cited past votes in which Good denied support, such as an Israeli aid bill in February and a “defense authorization bill that included important funding for joint U.S.-Israel defense programs, including Iron Dome.”
“If you don’t stand with the Jewish community, if you don’t stand with Israel, Republican or Democrat, the RJC will work to defeat you,” Brooks wrote.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Good for comment.
McGuire looks to be a serious challenger for Good, as he has picked up additional endorsements from former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
