Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) pitched that the new “Avengers” for the Democratic Party be made up of progressive representatives.
Swalwell sat down for an interview with Charlamagne tha God on Tuesday’s episode of The Breakfast Club. Charlamagne, who has long criticized Democratic lawmakers for participating in “political theater” rather than pursuing winning strategies, asked Swalwell who in the party will rise to overpower the “old regime.”

“It’s going to take like this Avengers-like model of Jasmine Crockett, Maxwell Frost, Robert Garcia, people that you not seen before, just step up,” Swalwell said. “And then we’re gonna get to the end of this year and we’re gonna win in Virginia and New Jersey those governors races. It’s gonna give us momentum.”
In Virginia, Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears is looking to succeed her boss, Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who is term-limited. She is facing a challenge from former Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger.

Swalwell’s dream team lineup flies in the face of Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), who bristled at the mention of Crockett as her party’s leader while on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday.
