NextImg:Susanna Gibson, Virginia sex cam Democrat, scrubs endorsements from campaign website

Virginia Democrat Susanna Gibson no longer lists on her campaign's website the groups and elected officials who have endorsed her state delegate campaign, following revelations she had sex with her husband for cash on camera.

Gibson, a 40-year-old nurse practitioner, continues to come under fire from Republicans for appearing alongside her husband, lawyer John David Gibson, in sexually explicit videos on Chaturbate, which archived the clips on other pornographic websites. Her campaign previously listed those supporting Gibson online, including Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) and Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), but the endorsements section of the website has been scrubbed as of this writing, records show.

The section also included ex-Gov. Ralph Northam (D-VA), Democratic Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, Virginia state Sen. Louise Lucas, Virginia state Del. Candi King, Richmond City Council Member Andreas Addison, and Virginia state Sen. Lamont Bagby, chairman of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus.

As for liberal groups, those listed on the Gibson campaign's website included the Virginia chapter for Voters of Tomorrow, a dark money group that recently alleged without evidence to the Washington Examiner that "attacks" on Gibson are "illegal," and Vote Pro Choice, which also said it still endorses Gibson. Others included the pro-gun control organization Giffords, the Virginia League of Conservation Voters, the Virginia Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, the feminist group Her Bold Move, the Virginia National Organization for Women, and Emily's List, a pro-abortion PAC, records show.

The endorsements section of Gibson's website now directs users to a "page not found" pop-up. The discrepancy is the latest development after the Washington Post first reported weeks ago on the Chaturbate clips, and comes as Kaine and Spanberger appear to be trying to distance themselves from Gibson.

Sometime within the last several days, Spanberger deleted a social media post from Sept. 8 showing her with Gibson at an event, while Kaine admitted he "was very, very surprised at the story."

In this image taken from a video, Virginia legislative candidate Susanna Gibson addresses the Women's Summit in Virginia Beach in September 2022.

"It won’t intimidate me, and it won’t silence me," Gibson said when news of the videos first began circulating. "My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven they’re willing to commit a sex crime to attack me and my family because there’s no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak up."

Gibson notably hauled in roughly $600,000 between July and August from wealthy liberal donors and groups, just before the September Washington Post story, campaign finance disclosures show. Robin Dripps, a University of Virginia professor who gave $10,000 to Gibson's campaign in August, told the Washington Examiner Wednesday she stands by the candidate and, as far as "future" donations, is "likely to contribute."

Her largest donor was Clean Virginia Fund, a left-leaning political action committee funded by the wealthy Charlottesville-based investor Michael Bills, while Bills's wife, philanthropist and longtime Democratic donor Sonjia Smith, contributed $70,000 in August to Gibson's campaign. The pair was recently dubbed "the new kingmakers of the Virginia Democratic Party."
