EXCLUSIVE — The super PAC backing Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for president in 2024 is debuting two new ads that highlight his children and his wife, Casey DeSantis, as well as her struggle with cancer.
One new ad from Never Back Down, "The Bell," focuses on the bell that Casey DeSantis rang after her final chemotherapy treatment. Pictures of Ron DeSantis, Casey DeSantis, and the family together flash across the screen, cut with footage of her discussing how her husband supported her and their children throughout her bout with breast cancer.

Another ad, titled "Unique Lens," features social media posts from Casey DeSantis's accounts on Instagram and X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. At first, the posts are light-hearted as the narrator says, "Families share their experiences through a unique lens."
The post notes families share both the big and the little things, as well as "the not-so-great things," as her cancer announcement appears on screen. "All these moments share a little about who we are: a strong couple. A strong family. A strong leader," the ad continues.
The two ads are part of a larger seven-figure buy that began on July 31. The ads will start running this week in Iowa and New Hampshire, where the first caucus and primary, respectively, will take place in 2024. "The Bell" will be promoted on digital platforms, while "Unique Lens" will be aired on broadcast.
Each ad is 30 seconds long.
The new spots come days before the Republican National Committee's first primary debate in Milwaukee. Ron DeSantis will face off against his Republican opponents, with the exception of former President Donald Trump, who has announced that he won't be attending.

In a new poll of likely caucusgoers in Iowa, Ron DeSantis posted 19%. In the same survey, Trump received 42%, a plurality rather than a majority. The Florida governor's numbers in Iowa are better than his standing in national polls, while Trump is comparatively worse off in the Hawkeye State. Trump continues to maintain a 23-percentage-point lead over the Republican from the Sunshine State.
DeSantis campaign spokesman Andrew Romeo commented on the poll Monday, saying: "Donald Trump is leaving the door wide open in the Hawkeye State, and we are capitalizing. The more Iowans see Ron DeSantis in-person, the more his message to reverse our nation’s decline and revive the American dream will continue to resonate."
