


Beneficiaries of the Chelsea Eats program in Chelsea, Massachusetts, are set to receive their first payments of as much as $400 in two days.
The program benefits more than 700 households in the town of roughly 40,000 people, delivering them payments of $200 to $400 on March 15 to assist with food and utility bills.

The payments will be delivered via debit cards issued by the city, to be activated on Wednesday. More than 800 debit cards had been distributed as of March 8, according to city officials.
Payment amounts are dependent on the size of the household of the recipient. A household with one person will receive a payment of $200, a household of two people will get $300, and any household with three or more people will receive a payment of $400 from the program.
In order to be eligible for the program, applicants must fall below a certain income level depending on the number of people in a household. For one-person households, applicants must make less than $29,450, and for a household of two, it would be $33,650, with the maximum income increasing as the size of the household increases.
