Low and middle-income residents of Boulder, Colorado, will soon be able to apply for a rebate program that could provide them extra cash to spend on food.

The Colorado city offers the Food Tax Rebate Program to its residents every year and offers applicants $99 for individuals and $302 for applicants with a family, according to the city of Boulder.

To be eligible for this rebate, an applicant must have lived in Boulder for the entire 2022 calendar year and must either have been 62 years old throughout 2022, a person with a disability, or have a family with children under 18 years of age in the household throughout 2022. Additionally, an applicant's income cannot surpass a certain limit that varies depending on their family size, with the limit being $43,900 for individuals, $50,200 for a family of two, and $56,450 for a family of three, with the limit increasing slightly as the household increases.

Applications for this rebate will start being accepted on March 1. After that, the state will continue to accept applications through June 30.
