Several states are sending out stimulus checks over the summer, with governments continuing to distribute money they originally allocated for certain programs.

Idaho

Idahoans who qualified for the 2022 Special Session rebate, passed by the Idaho legislature in 2022 authorizing a tax rebate to full-year residents of the Gem State, can expect to see payments through the summer of 2023. Payments to tax fillers who issued their tax returns on time have already been completed, but those who received extensions or filed later can continue to track their rebate online.

The rebate amounts individuals receive will depend on their 2020 tax return information. Idaho residents who qualified will see a rebate amount of $300 for individual filers and $600 for joint filers or 10% of a taxpayer's 2020 income taxes, whichever amount is larger.

Illinois

Those who filed for either or both the Income Tax Rebate and Property Tax Rebate had until October 2022 to do so with no filing extensions allowed. The Illinois Comptroller’s Office stated payments will be sent out until funds run out.

Illinoisans who filed for the Income Tax Rebate as a single person will receive a rebate amount of $50, and those who filed jointly will get $100. Individuals who applied for the Property Tax Rebate could see a maximum of $300, equal to the property tax credit on their 2021 IL-1040 tax form.

Taxpayers in the Bay State were issued tax refunds starting in November 2022, but later filers have a deadline of September 2023 to qualify for the rebate.

People can estimate their refund based on their tax year 2021 income tax liability through a refund estimator on the Massachusetts government webpage.
