In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, residents of the United States received three stimulus payments from the Internal Revenue Service, which totaled $3,200.

The three payments, known as the Economic Impact Payments, were issued within the time frame of one year, with the first payment of $1,200 in April 2020, the second one of $600 around December 2020, and the third of $1,400 in March. However, in addition to these payments, many states issued their own payments to residents, with some states adding an extra $1,000 to the money they already received from the IRS, according to GO Banking Rates.
