


Saturday is the final day for musicians in New York to apply for a guaranteed income program that will give them an extra $200 every month.
The payments from the Artist Grants Program will give $200 to six recipients selected by the Local Sound Collaborative organization. Recipients will receive the payments once a month starting in December 2023. Applications will remain open until June 3, according to the organization.

Applications for the program opened on April 3, and the program will pay recipients once a month for a year.
To be eligible for this program, an applicant must live in the greater Rochester area of New York and be at least 18 years old. Additionally, he or she must identify as a member, worker, or participant within the local music community and demonstrate financial need.

Recipients will be allowed to spend the $200 payment on whatever they please, including groceries, travel expenses, and new equipment for their music, among other needs.
