Musicians in New York still have three days left to apply to a guaranteed income program that will give them an extra $200 every month.
The payments from the Artist Grants Program will give $200 to six recipients selected by the Local Sound Collaborative. Recipients will receive these payments once a month starting in December. Applications will remain open until June 3, according to the organization.

Recipients will be allowed to spend this $200 payment on whatever they please, including groceries, travel expenses, and new equipment for their music, among other needs. This freedom of choice that recipients are given in spending their income is because the program is based on a universal basic income model.
Those interested in applying can do so online on the Local Sound Collaborative's website.
