The new batch is being added to 1,000 people who are receiving $1,000 every month for three years. They were selected last year, a spokesperson for Los Angeles County told the Washington Examiner. The previous 1,000 recipients were randomly selected from a pool of eligible applicants.
The outcomes of the program will be studied by the University of Pennsylvania and other research partners who will conduct a randomized control study.
