NextImg:Security scares up for MTG after Democrat’s ‘weapons’ threat - Washington Examiner

Outspoken Trump advocate Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is facing more physical threats following a Democrat’s call for “actual weapons” to be used to fight conservatives like her.

Concerns about safety have prompted the lawmaker’s campaign to twice seek donations from supporters for a security fund she taps for personal protection.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) sent this initial letter to supporters seeking help to pay for her security.

In the latest memo, Greene thanked supporters for the earlier donations after she was repeatedly “swatted” at her Georgia home and Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) said on CNN, “What I think is really important and what the American public want is for us to bring actual weapons to this bar fight. This is an actual fight for democracy, for the future of this country.”

His comments followed Greene’s chairing the House Oversight Committee’s first DOGE subcommittee hearing last week.

Her campaign memo said, “Unfortunately, we haven’t raised nearly enough to provide the protection I need against the deranged, violent left. Ever since Democrat Congressman Robert Garcia went on TV with his calls to incite violence against me the threats have increased.”

Under a new rule OK’d by the Federal Election Commission, federal campaigns are allowed to spend donations on security.

Greene has faced threats ever since her 2020 election. Her home has been targeted in several “swattings,” when someone makes a false report of a crime in progress to attract police.

“If you’re able to help out, even a few dollars goes a long way towards helping my campaign pay for the private security I need for my personal safety,” said Greene.
