An Oklahoma school district is facing growing pressure to fire a drag queen it hired to be an elementary school principal.
Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters has called on Western Heights School District "immediately" to fire John Glenn Elementary School Principal Shane Murnan, who performs in drag as Shantel Mandalay, according to a report.

"It's outrageous to have a drag queen running a school, you know, here in Oklahoma that doesn't line up with Oklahoma values," Walters said. "I hear from parents every day that are concerned with this woke left-wing indoctrination or schools, this gender theory that continues to be thrust upon our kids. It's completely inappropriate."
"This individual is not fit to lead a school district," Walters said. "It has to stop."
Murnan's activity in drag includes reading to children during Pride month through the Metropolitan Library System and maintaining a social media presence as Shantel Mandalay, the report noted.
Muran also faced charges of child pornography in the early 2000s.
The charges were purportedly dismissed due to the fact that personnel in the images under question could not be proven to be under 18, according to the report.
Integrating gender ideology with K-12 education is part of the Left's plan, according to Walters.
"I think that the left has absolutely an agenda for our kids, that they are at war with our kids in the classroom. What they are doing is injecting this ideology for an end goal here," he said.
"Their end goal is to absolutely break down a child's mind, break down the classroom, break down the family, and you see the results that have come from this. They want kids to turn on their parents and only listen to their leftist ideology."
Telling young students that they are "gender-fluid" and presenting them with "sexual material" creates a disconnect between a child and their parents, Walters said.
"When the kid takes it home and their parent is outraged by it, the kids turn on their parents. This is absolutely trying to break down that family unit, so the kid is more susceptible to the most radical Marxist gender ideology we've ever seen to pit groups of people against each other. And frankly, it's to create Democrat voters," he said.

Parents do not want their children exposed to the gender agenda of the Left, according to Walters, who added there is no room for the "woke" war in his state.
"We will not allow it in Oklahoma," he said. "This is the liberal insanity that every parent wants out of the classroom. We will not allow our kids to be part of their radical-left game for pushing ideology and furthering their end goal, which is creating social justice warriors instead of students that understand how education is a path for success for them. We will not allow it. This will stop."
